Ever since the oil embargos of the '70's, the artifically high
price of oil has been slowly destoying the world economy while burning the
oil is poluting the atmosphere. Much of the problem is the USA's (contrived)
dependence on the automobile (caused by the layout of the cities, lack of
public transportation, and use of the internal (infernal?) combustion engine).
Proven (but little used) Technology
The Stirling Engine
Invented in 1816, this engine is highly efficient, and almost
