The basis of this alternate cosmology is plasma theory. Plasma theory contends that electrical forces, conducted through space by plasma, accounts for much of the formation of the universe.
(Don't feel bad if you don't understand all of the theory in these articles: it's real heavy stuff, and I doubt if there are more than a handful of people who can fully understand it.)
Where can I get the book?
Here is a review ( better than this one, actually) by a company that
sells this book: http://nowscape.com/big-bang.htm
(I know nothing about this company other than they advertise this book.
I assume no responsibilities for any transactions with this company nor
do I have any connections with it.)
Or try your local book store.
This is the page that generates the most email of all my pages. Most are favorable, and coincidentally many of the people who agree are Libertarians also. There must be some inherently Libertarian ideas involved in Lerner's book.
The one criticism I got was from a physicist. I removed a link I had to AutoDynamics Theory ( find it yourself ) because he seemed to be familiar with it and disagreed with it. In all honesty, I didn't get deep enough into it to say that I agree or disagree with it, so it's history, at least until I can sift through it until I can thoroughly understand what they are saying.
However, I read The Big Bang Never Happened, and I understand it well enough to be a proponent. Lerner talks about the religious implications of "The Big Bang" and, lo and behold, the aforementioned person accused me of blasphemy because I put a quote from Einstein on this page. This is at the crux of the problem: religion has become intertwined with science, and as such hinders true scientific thought. I'm not anti-religion, but believe it must be put in the proper perspective.
To the physicist who wrote me on this ( you know who you are ): Thanks for the email, I actually welcome philosophical debate.
