The New Jersey Right to Keep and Bear Arms community has three mailing lists to use for networking, discussion, and dissemination of timely news and alerts. These lists are:
- NJ-RKBA-ALERT
- A low-traffic, alerts-only list used solely for issuing timely bulletins warning of impending legislation, election-time events, or news regarding the lawsuit to overturn the Florio gun ban. No discussion is permitted on NJ-RKBA-ALERT, and followups are automatically redirected to NJ-RKBA.
- NJ-RKBA
- A general discussion list for all things relating to the Right to Keep and Bear Arms in New Jersey. In particular, there is a focus on concealed carry legislation, overturning the Florio gun ban, and the continued efforts of the courts to disarm New Jerseyans through overbroad application of “domestic violence” laws. NJ-RKBA automatically receives everything sent to NJ-RKBA-ALERT; therefore, there's no need to subscribe to both lists.
- NJ-RKBA-DIGEST
- A digest form of NJ-RKBA, issued every 40,000 bytes or every 24 hours, whichever comes first.
All of these lists are closed lists run on a majordomo server. To subscribe to one of the lists, send a message to majordomo@toto.com with the command "subscribe listname" in the body of the message. For example, to subscribe to NJ-RKBA, you’d send the following message:
SAVE THE WELCOME MESSAGE THAT YOU GET BACK. It contains instructions for unsubscribing. The list administrator appreciates an honest attempt to unsubscribe yourself prior to asking to be unsubscribed. In particular, unsubscribe requests sent to the list proper are ignored.To: majordomo@toto.com Subject: subscribe nj-rkba
To send a message to one of the lists, send it to listname@toto.com. For example, to send a message to NJ-RKBA, you’d send it to nj-rkba@toto.com. Please try to avoid unnecessary duplication, and do not discuss the “a-word.”
