At the shop again! This time to my amazement, the whole rear part of the car is in primer. The doors are now off and getting worked on. The interior floor is now also completly painted black, after welding the drain plugs shut and some minor front passenger floor patch welds. It is now scheduled to get the top done on Tuesday the 28th.

*** This is now the "1 Year Anniversary" since I started to dismantle my '69 Grand Prix. ***

CAN'T STOP NOW!!!

Today, my car got another ride on the rollback. It is now sitting in another shop to get the new Black Vinyl Top put on. Should be completed by tomorrow night, then put back on the rollback, and shipped back to the body shop.

Back to the shop.. The NEW vinyl top looks Excellent! I had to do a little trim work on the vinyl, where it meets the stainless trim.

The drivers door is now finished and primered. The passenger door and deck lid are now being worked on.

The shop has already refabricated a piece of 16 gauge steel by about 4" wide. It is for the deck lid, since both rear corners had some rot, plus under the "GRAND PRIX" letters. He is going to burn off the outer skin and weld in the new piece. The inside corners of the deck lid, are also burned out and refabricated.

I also dropped off the upper and lower sets of door hinges from AMES, and my spare rear bumper. He needs the bumper to line up and repair the rear valance panel.
