Went to the shop, Discount Auto Parts and Auto Body, near Hellertown, Pa., to meet Bob, the Owner. We rented a U-haul to get the hood back to my house, since it was not mounted, and a rollback was on its way to pick up my car at the other body shop. Got the hood home without a scratch!

Waited patiently for my car!! I was getting very anxious and it wasn't until late afternoon when my car finally arrived.. Triple A (AAA) jobs come before private hauls. Oh Well!! But it really looks sharp sitting back in my garage.

I grabbed the cans of trunk spatter paint and in a few minutes I had the trunk painted.

Today, I managed to install the new door handles, door locks, trunk lock, and reinstalled the reflectors in the rear cowls. I started to put on the vinyl top trim moldings, but ran into a couple snags. First, the new sail panel louvers don't match hole pattern to the originals. I found this out "AFTER" I put the holes in the vinyl top. Second, the roofline trim didn't want to stay down flat. Those nylon clips aren't all that great. I have decided to improvise this. I still need to find out about these louvers. Why the hole spacing problem??

Just received my new Stainless Steel Fuel lines this past week. So, today I decided to install them. What a major challenge!!! I had to cut the lines just before they go up over the top of the rear frame. I tried for a while and then managed to get them in through the wheel well.. Had to do a little rebending to accomplish this, and a few choice words, but I did manage to get them up after some battle wounds... Called it a day!!! I think it would have been much easier if the chassis was off the frame!!!

Called Performance Years to see if they had any Sail Panel Louvers with the 3 3/8" mounting pattern. They said "Nope", "but if we had a NOS or a very good used one, they could use it for a mold to make them after market". I gave them one of mine. Should hear in about a week if they can make a set or not, using my old one! Keep your fingers crossed!!

When I got the car back for the shop, they had painted the cowl, between the firewall and the windshield, the same olympic gold, as the rest of the car. Pontiac had this area black.. So, today I tapped off the car, cleaned out the defroster area and painted it all black. Later, I removed the passenger front fender and mounted the inner wheel well along with the emblems. Got it back on the car without a scratch!!! I also painted the frame and rear wheel wells black, to get rid of the overspray..

Did the same to the drivers side front fender. Cleaned and painted the fan shroud, then mounted the radiator and the shroud. Got to HOT to continue, 95'F and humid.. I was sweating, just admiring my car in the garage!! Can't wait to start her up!!!
