| My 69 Grand Prix Restoration - 2 |

In April 1997, I had my Grand Prix flatbedded to my house, to start
the Restoration Process.

While doing some other kind of work, I had pulled a lower back muscle.
I went for X-rays and then found myself in an MRI tube. I could not
even bend over 90 degress to even tie my shoe, let alone working on
my car.
1997 and 1998 have been years of collecting information.
I have located suppliers for Classic Pontiac parts, gone to numerous
Classic Car Shows, and now am investigating shops to do some of the
Restoration Work, paint, top, interior, etc. I do mostly all the
mechanical work.
I found a 69 Grand Prix in the spring 1998, which I was able
to strip for parts.
Sept. 1998, I bought a GP that also was sitting
for 15 years. It took me 1 1/2 years to finally get to purchase
this car. The owner had bought it new, and was reluctant to
part with it. He had many stories about it including how it would
just about put him in the back seat, when he would step on the GAS.

I had it flatbedded to my In-laws. It is a COMPLETE car right down to
the air filter. It is a Model J with air conditioning and an automatic
transmission. It could be restored, but, I am going to use it for
spare parts.
I am also working on a spare parts inventory list as well as a list
of parts that I am purchasing and still need. The list includes
suppliers, part description, part numbers, and cost.
My next step is to rewire under the hood. Sparkplug wires, battery
cables, engine harness. Rebuild the carburetor. Replace the fuel pump.
Install a new distributor cap, & rotor. Drain and clean the gas tank and
try to fire it up.
