This is Now my 2nd Year Aniversary
since I started my 69 Grand Prix disassembly!!

Finally got a chance, to roll the car out, since last year!!

Today, I spent doing some wiring under the dash. I hooked up my AM/FM CD player power cables, I wired my seperate oil and temperature gauge lights, and mounted and connected up my SUN Super Tach II. I have it mounted on the steering column. Then I finished the day cleaning the dash.

Another nice day, but got a late start! I was able to get the center console installed, the passenger side lower kick panel, the front seatbelts that mount to the center hump, and both front seats.

A beautiful day here in PA. I installed my remote driver's mirror, cleaned the drivers door glass, relubed the rollers and installed the driver's door window. Buffed the chrome door molding and attched the new window channel weatherstrip to it, and mounted it to the door. Cleaned and buffed the inside door handle and remote mirror mounting brackets and installed. I then mounted the door panel and manual window handle.

I got into the car and shut the door, but when I tried to open the door, it wouldn't open.??? I had to take the whole panel off again to figure out, what the ????! There is a rod that goes from the inside door handle to the locking mechanism. I found out that this is a two piece rod. It gets connected together by a 2 inch long adjustment sleeve. The one end had pulled out just a little bit. Apparently at Pontiac, the one end is crimped and now was slipping. After pondering how to remedy this, I decided to drill a .075" hole through the sleeve and the rod. I then put a pin though it. Worked GREAT!! Reinstalled the door panel, AGAIN!!

I then managed to buff the left front fender molding and mounted it to the fender.

Today, I was able to install the two door sill plates and cleaned and buffed the passenger side wheel well moldings. Had to drill new holes to mount the rear molding, since all the metal is new back there! Cleaned and installed the passenger side seatbelt retractor.

I also took the passenger side door panel off to install a clip I had forgotten. Since the panel was off, my 7 year old son helped me scrub and wash it. These door panels can take a little water, but need to dry ASAP. Set it out in the sun to dry. Later, I reinstalled the door panel.

I had to install a new pair of rear shocks. I put the Monroe Sensa-Traks on. The first pair of rear shocks got damaged in one of the rollback moves. Then I installed the rear valance panel. I used stainless steel 1/4" nuts and bolts to mount it to the bumper and rear quarters.

Then I jacked up the front end up and set the front tires on my car ramps, and tightened the lower control arm bolts. I waited until all the pieces were installed, like the rest of the interior, to have the weight load on the arms. Then I mounted the front valance panel.
