My Parts are BACK!!

July 20, 2001

I got some good news today, from Bob at the shop!!! All my parts are back from the machine shop, including the JE Pistons! Those Pistons are a major work of art! Really Sharp!

The short block was dipped and bored .060 over, which now makes it a 412 cu. in. motor. It was also centerline bored through the crank along with receiving all brass freeze out plugs. The 62 heads came out looking like new.

The flywheel was reground, along with having the intake manifold, oil pan, oil baffle, and valley pan dipped and cleaned.

I should have the motor by next Friday, for me to do the install next weekend!!

Stopped by Bob's shop tonight. The long block is now getting assembled. The crank is now installed and the pistons are next. Each piston rod bolt was torqued to 65 ft. lbs. After the pistons, the Crane Cam was then installed. Next was the Crane double roller timing chain. The heads were then installed and torqued to 95ft. lbs.

I decided to go with the roller tip rockers, also by Crane.

Then we installed the lifters, pushrods, and rockers. We finished up at the shop around 11:15pm. Now I have to get the motor home!! Yippee!!!
