Dropped the control arms off at a shop near work. They said they can remove all the bushings and then get the control arms media blasted and then install the new parts.

May 13, 1999

Picked up the finished control arms and they look great. All I have to do is paint them.

Primered the firewall, frame, upper and lower control arms, driveshaft, and some other parts.

May 16, 1999

Painted the control arms, frame and firewall, chassis black. Later, I was able to get the four control arms into place and then installed the driver side front spring.

Received a call at work. My wheelwells and radiator support are ready. I did not recognize them. They looked great.

Came home and installed the passenger side front spring and both front shocks. The front end really looks sharp!!

Had received a call earlier in the week that my rear bumper was finished, so I picked it up before going to work. I checked it out and it has a beutiful mirror finish. Can't wait until I can mount it on the car and finally see those tail lights glow again.

Spent most of the day putting on new front end parts. Installed all the new steering linkage from the outer tie-rod to the other. Attached the new 1 1/4" anti-sway bar up front. Installed the rotors, brake calipers with the new pads, and installed the new stainless steel brake lines up front. Put a set of my new tires and wheels on. Its coming alive..

Picked up my media blasted headers at lunch time. They are Blackjack headers. In 1982, this was the only brand I was able to find that would fit, since I had the manual shift linkage to contend with. Some modifications still had to be performed. In other words, I had to sledge hammer an indentation in the driver side rear pipe for clearance of the linkage.
