KNOCKOUT KINGS
Review by John Androsavich
If you are a fan of boxing, Knockout Kings is a must buy -- but if you are looking for as much action as there is in a Rocky movie, go look for another game.
Knockout Kings has a plentiful amount of Boxers. You can choose from greats like Muhammad Ali to modern sluggers like Oscar DeLaHoya. If you aren't as interested in playing as a real fighter, you can become a boxer yourself and try to become a champion by moving up in the ranks. Other features include a Slugging Contest, where there are no rules.
The graphics in the game are up to date, offering such details as flying mouthpieces, and cuts and bruises on the boxer's face.
The controls are also on par, giving you the choice between numerous punches and combos. The difficulty rate is kind of high. It will probably take you a long time before you score a knockout. But the moves and combos are relatively simple.
All in all, this game is probably one of the most realistic boxing games on the market. However, if you are not a true boxing fan, be sure to rent this game before you buy it. The lack of action usually tends to turn off most people.
