The Trib enters cyberspace

The staff of The Boone Tribune celebrates its first issue
.By BRITTNY SPARROW
Welcome to the very first edition of the Boone Tribune! Thirty-four dedicated, eighth-grade volunteers have been working very hard at making the Daniel Boone Middle School's very first online newspaper. Under Mr. Todd Sherman's supervision and guidance these students have been designing a web site using the Claris Homepage and AOL Press programs. Each student has been assigned a different project -- either a story, photo or a page to design -- to complete the first edition.
The Trib will have more than just the regular newspaper sections such as news, sports and features. Pages for artwork, fiction and poetry have also been designed. Our first edition includes stories about our principal, Mr. David Blozowich, and Birdsboro Police Officer Alan Fay, who speaks to our sixth-grade students about D.A.R.E. Our first edition will also include stories about our middle school sports teams and artwork from sixth- and seventh-grade students. Each new issue will have updates on teachers and students. We hope that our online newspaper will be a great success because we have all been putting a great deal of time and effort into providing an entertaining and informative newspaper. We hope you will enjoy the very first edition of the Boone Tribune!
