Blozowich becomes DBMS principal

By Raymond McCann

Before Mr. David Blozowich came to the country, he worked in the city -- or at least close to it. Blozowich, 36, is the principal of the new Daniel Boone Middle School. Mr. Blozowich had been a principal in the Southeast Delaware County School District, which is close to Philadelphia.

Mr. Blozowhich believes in the saying, "With each day a new success."

He was born Manor, Pennsylvania, where he still lives with his wife. Mr. Blozowich does not have any kids yet. He went to college at Clarion University, which is north of Pittsburgh. He earned his principal certificate at Penn State University. He started teaching as a science teacher in 1986 and began as a principal in 1992. Mr. Blozowich was inspired to become a principal by his principal when he was a science teacher.

About two years ago Mr. Blozowich was in Berks County for a conference on cooperative learning. While at the conference he discovered he really liked the area, so when a job opened at Daniel Boone, he applied for it. He thinks a principal should be strict and firm but human at the same time.
