The Voyagers (6th grade team) have traveled old trails and blazed new ones in their English adventure so far this school year. They have completed grammar units on sentences and verbs as well as writing units, one a creative narrative and the other a personal narrative. In addition to those quests, the Voyagers have gone boldly into the realm of Project Target Date. In this activity the students selected an out-of-town newspaper and wrote letters to request a copy of that newspaper for a specified 'target date.' They compared and contrasted that newspaper with a same date issue of the Reading Times. Future adventures will include investigating adjectives and dabbling in poetry.
