The God of the Bible versus the god of MLM

The god of MLM smiles upon husband and wife relationships—as long as they are mutually supportive of each others’ efforts to ‘build the business’. The MLM training system seems to view the spouse as either an invaluable tool with which to build the business—or a liability that needs to be contained or –in a worst case scenario-‘flushed’. A favorite phrase of MLM speakers is "If your spouse doesn’t support you in the business, flush her(him) and get a new one". One MLM leader actually aired this view on a nationally televised segment of AMERICAN JOURNAL aired on February 14,1994.. And, sadly, the author knows of several couples, who embraced this Satanic view of marriage—only to have their God—ordained union damaged or dissolved under the pretext of "building the business".

In contrast, the Word of God views the marriage relationship as second in importance only to an individual’s personal relationship with God Himself.

In fact, the Bible often characterizes the relationship between Christ and His church as one between Bridegroom and bride.

In Genesis 2:21-22, God describes how Eve was literally formed from the rib of Adam—truly a one flesh relationship:

"And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Ad’am, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man."

Not only did Adam recognize the one flesh relationship, it was immediately confirmed by God Himself in Genesis 2:23-24.

"And Ad’am said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother , and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh."

This one flesh relationship is designed by God to last a joyful lifetime--regardless of the type of work(labour) that the husband is called to do. Look at Ecclesiastes 9:9:

"Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he has given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun."

Finally, God has ordained that nothing designed by man—including man’s business—should sever the holy bond between husband and wife. Mark 10:9 says:

"What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder."

Clearly, the "flush your spouse" mentality promoted by the god of MLM has no place in the heart of the true child of God.
