Our favorite windsurfing store is located in Buxton just south of the entrance to the light house, on the right side of route12 when heading south. This is the place to go for custom sailboards and sailboard REPAIRS. They carry a full line of sailboard equipment, rubber and other clothes and also rent equipment.  We ordered our fourth FOX Custom sailboard, a 9.0' sandwich board with custom graphics (Mount Gay Rum) for Wendy.  As she says, "No more transition boards for her".  She is looking forward to picking it up and sailing it at Thanksgiving.  


Stop by the store to talk with Ted James (that's Ted in the green shirt) to see what's hot and what's happening with the wind.  Make sure you pickup a copy of  "Fox Watersports Guide to Cape Hatteras Area Windsurfing Sites". Don Bowers does most of the shaping and airbrushing on the sailboards.  If the wind is honking, look for both Don and Ted wave sailing at the "turnout" just north of Hatteras village.  That's Don Bowers standing with his own sailboards.
