by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.
Communism -- noun
1. a theory or system of social organization based
on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being
ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.
2. (often initial capital letter) a system of social
organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by
a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating
political party.

Independence Day 2009
The United States of America did not deserve to celebrate Independence
Day this year as we have allowed ourselves to become subjects of a new
despotic regime. When Thomas Jefferson wrote in the Declaration
of Independence:
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably
the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute
despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such
government, and to provide new guards for their future security--Such
has been the patient sufferance of these colonies; and such is
now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems
of government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a
history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct
object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states."
he would not have imagined that in a short 233 years we would be faced
with tyranny from our own President. Like King George:
through the creation of Czars "He has erected a multitude of new offices,
and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out
their substance."
elevated Harold Koh to the State Department with the goal of
subjugating the Constitution to international law "He has combined
with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to
our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to
their acts of pretended legislation"
by forcing through the so-called stimulus packages he is guilty of "He has
imposed taxes on us without our consent". Nevermind taxation
without representation for using Federal funds to help states which we
do not reside in.
We
now have unelected officials taking control of the automobile industry,
private banks, health care and a multitude of other areas that are no
business of the government. That is, unless we are talking about
changing America from a capitalist system where Liberty is valued to
another Communist country like the former Soviet Union. Maybe there is
something to this as our President was a community organizer for ACORN,
which is basically a Communist front organization based on the
principles set forth by Saul Alinsky. I am sure most that most of the
people that voted for him have no clue what a "community organizer" is.
A community organizer is a person who lies to the vulnerable and gets
their emotions into a frenzy and sends them into the streets to demand
what they have not earned and have no right to acquiring in the name of
"social justice".
Independence Day is also a celebration of the use of violence by an
oppressed people to bring about justifiable political ends.
Jefferson wrote that "We hold these truths to be self-evident,
that all men are created
equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable
rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of
happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted
among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends,
it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to
institute new government."
So one would think that the greatest nation on earth, the bastion of
freedom and liberty would support those who also aspire to freedom and
liberty. Not so! The current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
would rather side with tyrants and autocratic religious zealots bent on
destroying our way of life. When the oppressed people of Iran took to
the streets to protest what in all likelihood was a stolen election,
President Obama stood mute while the subjects of the Mullahs were
brutally shot down like dogs. It was not until days into the protests
that he would issue a statement and that was after being goaded into it
by the Secretary of State.
Then
to add insult to injury, when in Honduras the Supreme Court ruled
against the President in favor of their Congress they sent the Army to
arrest their lawbreaking President, President Obama said "Resistance
through violence and killing is wrong and does not succeed." Well,
sometimes in the course of human events violence becomes necessary. In
this case, a duly elected president was taking upon himself powers that
were not enumerated unto him by his country's constitution, legislature
or courts. Yet, instead of the people and the system he sides with the
neo-Communist wannabe despot Manuel Zelaya.
Those who compare
President Obama to the fictional Mr. Spock of "Star Trek" fame pretty
much hit the nail on the head, but not in the way they envision our
Vulcan president. Look at any episode of classic "Trek" where Mr.
Spock found himself in command and you have a disaster brought on by
"logical thinking" without taking in the illogical variables. Best
example was "The Gallileo Seven". When faced with a primitive tribal
culture bent on their destruction Mr. Spock ordered a show of the
weapons without actually causing harm. Then crewman after crewman is
killed and their shuttle gets pounded on with boulders. This is the
same approach Obama is taking with our enemies like the Iranian
Mullahs and the neo, and no so neo Communists like Hugo Chavez, the
Brothers Castro and Chavez's buddy, the ousted president of Honduras
Manuel Zelaya.
No my friends, we did not deserve to celebrate our
Independence Day this year. With
luck our system will survive; afterall our system as envisioned by the
Founders is the greatest conceived by humanity. We cannot and
should not throw off our system of government, however it is in serious
need of a "reset". Perhaps after the mid-term elections next
year if we vote in enough people of principle to stand against the
current occupant of the White House, and perhaps after we throw him out
in the 2012 elections we will deserve to celebrate again. |
