2. Edward Cheney² Maxfield (Charles, #4) was born on 2 Jun 1927 in Deering, Portland, ME. He married Phyllis Audrey Richardson (see #3), daughter of Howard LeMonte Richardson and Hilda Frances McFarland, on 26 Dec 1948 in South Portland, ME.³ He died on 3 Apr 1999 in Haines City, FL, at age 71.⁴

He began military service in May 1944 in Portland, ME, by enlisting in the USN, released from Active Duty in 1946 in Geneva, NY. He was a Field Engineer, NCR (accounting machine mechanic) starting in 1946. 

Children of Edward Cheney² Maxfield and Phyllis Audrey Richardson (see #3) are as follows:

• ii. Joyce Linda  b. 1 May 1952 in St. Francis Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY; m. John Kenneth Manning 30 Jan 1972 in Wappingers Falls, NY, later divorced.

• iii. Kathy Leigh; b. 9 Feb 1956 in Vassar Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY; m. Howard Levetin 6 Oct 1979 in Beacon, NY.

3. Phyllis Audrey² Richardson (Howard, #6) was born on 17 May 1926 in South Portland, ME. She married Edward Cheney Maxfield (see #2), son of Charles Lawrence Maxfield and Doris Kathleen Cheney, on 26 Dec 1948 in South Portland, ME.³
