Obediah Maxfield m. Lucy unknown, daughter Artemizia m. Jeremiah Osborn Hedges (b. 21 Dec 1795 in Troy, NY) in NY by 1819. Artemizia died by 1828. They had 5 children, possibly all born in Chazy Twp, Clinton Co, NY:

Lucinda unknown; had brothers Paschal (Pascal/Oscar), Albert and Edwin. Maybe these Maxfields were born in north-western Vermont, in the Lake Champlain area across from Clinton Co, NY.

My great great grandfather, Thomas ALEXANDER (b. 1835 in Hatley, Quebec Province, Canada) married Mary Frances MAXFIELD in Craftsbury, VT. We don't know where Mary Frances came from or who her parents were.

Mary A. Lockhard born in 1873 died 1909 and Samuel W. Maxfield born 1861 died 1944, were my mother's grandmother and grandfather. Samuel W. Maxfield was the son of James and Martha Johnson Maxfield. This clan was from Virginia. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Chauncy Maxfield b. 1820 Copake, Columbia Co, New York and later moved to Columbiaville, Lapeer County, Michigan. His mother was Lena Van Dusen and his father, (as far as I know from a 1900 census) is listed as a native of Ireland but I don't have his name yet. Any information about Maxfields in Massachusetts that elected to leave or were deported to Canada? Could there be any who were kidnapped by Indians during the many raids to the Newburyport area in the Indian Wars of the early 1700's and brought from eastern Mass (Newbury or Haverhill) to Canada and sold to the French?

Terrell Benjamin Maxfield who married Carrie Elizabeth Christgau, b. c1860. The pair resided in Milwaukee, WI, and may have had a grocery store. Their son, Terrell Benjamin Jr., born 1900, married Pauline Gustorf Bodenstein and they moved to upstate NY eventually settling in Ithaca. Terrell Benjamin (Max) had a brother. They had two children, David Bruce Maxfield (my father, now deceased) and Margaret Maxfield.

Stephen Maxfield b. abt. 1755 in PA and m. Hannah ___ b. abt. 1755 in PA and d. 1793 in PA. They had Margaret (Martha) Maxfield b. 11 Nov 1777 in PA, d. 3 Mar 1848 in Lewistown, Fulton, IL. She married Nehemiah BRUSH b. 6 Feb 1777 in Hopewell, Hunterdon, NJ. According to her son's biography (John Brush): "Martha Maxfield was of Hollandish descent, and was raised on the Mohawk among the Dutch in New York." Margaret and her parents were living in Erie Co., PA in 1808. Most of her children were born in German Valley, Erie, PA and John (the author of the biography) was born in Conneut Twp., Erie, PA in 1815.

My gggrandfather Henry Kinsell married Elizabeth Maxfield in 1847, Franklin Co, Ohio. The marriage records did not give parents names or their origin. I found Henry and Elizabeth again in 1856, Lee County IA. At that time they had a Catheryn Maxfield, age 50 and James Maxfield, age 20 living with them. Catheryn said she was from VA, and had lived in IA for 1 year. James said he had lived in IA 1 year and was from OH. There was also a Mary Kinsell living with this family, she was 65 yrs old, 15 years in IA, and from VA.

My Great Grandfather was Andrew K. Maxfield from Illinois where is enlisted in the 98th Inf during the Civil War. He is the son of Simeon Maxfield.
