JOHN Penland [736]
- Born: 1706, Monmouth Co, NJ
- Marriage: JEAN Cathey [737] on an unknown date in Pennsylvania
- Died: 1776, Newcastle, DE at age 70
General Notes:
In the 1730's there was another migration, this time from NJ to Eastern PA. The T was dropped about then. John settled first in Chester County, then later St. George's Hundred. An area later was made part of Northern Delaware near New Castle. He appears to have been the father of William, Robert, and George, who about 1760 moved to North Carolina and of Alexander who moved to Kentucky about 1779. Therefore John is probably the common ancestor of all of the Penland's
JOHN married JEAN Cathey [737] [MRIN: 233], daughter of JAMES Cathey [1759] and Unknown, on an unknown date in Pennsylvania. (JEAN Cathey [737] was born about 1710 in Ulster CO, Ireland and died about 1768.)
